The Filipino Hymns
Filipino Hymns are emerging! They're being sung not only in the Philippines but in other parts of the world as well. These hymns reflect the struggles and triumphs of the Filipino people, individually and collectively. It is our hope that through this site, we can share these new hymns to the world.
By Filipino Composers
Hymns in this site were composed by Filipino masters National Artists Lucrecia Kasilag, Felipe De Leon and Lucio San Pedro. Also included are works by Philippines' authority on liturgical music, Dr. Francisco F. Feliciano. Methodist composers are also in our list, Dr. Eliseo M. Pajaro, Eduardo Parungao, Arnel De Pano, Jonathan Gallo, Robert Pasion, Blossom Joy Cacho and Mr. Joy T. Nilo.
From Filipino Institutions
One of the most influential institutions for the spread of these hymns worldwide is The Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music housed at Sambalikhaan Foundation in Quezon City, Philippines. Noted for its discipline in liturgical music, AILM is founded by its Director and Sambalikhaan President, Dr. Fancisco F. Feliciano.
The National Innovative Ministries Partnership Program (NIMPP) under its director, Rev. Dr. Homer Wesley O. Refuerzo, spearheads a Filipino Hymnal which will be coming out very soon. If you would like to have your own composition included, please email us. Most of the hymns featured here were recorded at the NIMPP's recording studio by Chorus Philippines and Central UMC Festival choir.
